💸 The Central Bank of Russia announced when the digital ruble will be put into circulation
⏺ The central bank plans to put the digital ruble into wide circulation in mid-2025, Bank of Russia head Elvira Nabiullina said. A pilot project for its implementation is currently underway in the country.
⏺ According to Nabiullina, the group of banks participating in it will expand. The head of the Central Bank stressed that there should be confidence among citizens in the digital ruble. This will be completely voluntary for the population. The Bank of Russia plans to issue digital rubles directly on its platform.
