The Bank of Russia and the Ministry of Finance of Russia plan to test the payment of benefits in digital rubles. The experiment will reportedly start on August 25, 2025 and last until the end of September. The specific types of benefits to be paid are not specified.
As reports Interfax, this applies to both transfers from the state to citizens and return payments.
At the same time, the use of digital rubles will be voluntary: everyone will be able to choose how to receive pensions, salaries and benefits - in cash, with bank cards or in the future in digital rubles.
