The evolution of WEB and how the Internet has evolved over the years

    The evolution of WEB

    Web 1.0
It was invented by Tim Berners-Lee as a "read-only" web site. It was the first generation of the WWW and lasted between 1989 and 2005. The internet was not as dynamic, bright and interactive as the web we use now. The main purpose of websites was to make information public for everyone and create an online presence. In other words, the focus was on providing content.

    Web 2.0
It is described as a wisdom network, people-oriented, participatory and reading and writing.
The web becomes bidirectional - allowing both reading and writing.
This version of the Internet allows people to not only consume content, but to create their own and post it on blogs like Tumblr, Internet forums, and marketplaces. Later, the advent of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram took content sharing to new heights.
Although Web 2.0 has brought the world amazing free services, many people have grown tired of the way these huge tech companies collect and use their personal data. They want to have more control over their data and content. This is where Web 3.0 steps in.

    Web 3.0
It is an intelligent semantic web that allows a person or computer to start from one database and then move through an infinite set of databases. The purpose of linked data is to enable computers to do more useful work for us by training machines to read web pages. The Semantic Web will establish "world information" more rationally than Google's current engine scheme can do.
The communication gap between human web users and computational programs is semantic tagging. One of the most significant organizational problems in displaying information on the Web is that Web applications cannot add context to the data and, as a result, cannot tell what is useful and what is not. Web 3.0 promises applications that can talk directly to each other and to broader information search through simpler interfaces by merging semantic markup and Web services.
In Web 3.0, crypto wallets will be an essential part, as part of blockchain technology, as wallets in web3 will act as a gateway to your cryptocurrencies, irreplaceable tokens (NFTs), decentralized finance (Defi) and other decentralized applications (Dapps).

Web 4.0 is "based on wireless communication (mobile devices or computer), connecting people and objects anytime and anywhere in the physical or virtual world in real time." GPS, which helps people find their way, is a good example of this type.

    Web 5.0
It is still progressing and has not completed its formation, but it is defined as a connected, emotional and symbolic network that communicates with people. It is also based on an emotional connection with people. Technology and human interaction are becoming inseparable. Now technology can't understand how people feel however, there are already some startups like wefeelfine and emotiv that are looking to explore human emotions. In doing so, they will pave the way for a more personalized experience. Web 5.0 will take back ownership and control of personal data and identity.
